Non-Discrimination and Mutual Support

Wake Forest University is committed to diversity, inclusion, and the spirit of Pro Humanitate. In adherence with applicable laws and as provided by University policies, Wake Forest prohibits discrimination on the basis of race, color, religion, national origin, sex, age, sexual orientation, gender identity and expression, genetic information, disability and veteran status. It is essential that we remain supportive, respectful, and inclusive of the members of our community as we monitor the global coronavirus outbreak.

Several universities have experienced the targeting and exclusion of individuals who have visited or are perceived to be from countries where the virus has been widely reported. In some instances, this behavior has been prompted by encountering an individual who is wearing a mask on campus. Please note that wearing a mask does not necessarily indicate that an individual has symptoms or is at risk. Doing so is a widespread preventative measure in several countries, and is viewed as a gesture of consideration for others.

Acts of bias, discrimination, and harassment run counter to our University mission and to Wake Forest policies, including our full Non-Discrimination Statement, as well as the work on our Community in Progress. If you experience or witness an incident of bias as a result of the current coronavirus crisis, please visit to complete the appropriate report.
